A special showing of the first movie version of Eduardo De Filippo’s great 1945 play ‘Napoli Milionaria!’ will kick off celebrations of Naples’ 2500th anniversary.
The showing will be at the southern city’s iconic San Carlo opera house on March 25.
Mayor Gaetano Manfredi and a host of Neapolitan greats will be on hand for the event, which sold out almost immediately Tuesday.
The classic comedy about poverty and redemption was turned into a big-screen version in 1950 with a new part written specially for great comic actor Totò.
Eduardo, as he is universally known, was an Italian theatre and film legend.
