The goddess Venus who, in the Renaissance painting, is seen arriving on land on a giant scallop shell, in the poster, social media and video campaign appears eating pizza on Lake Como, holding a bicycle in front of Rome's Colosseum, and taking a selfie in Venice's Piazza San Marco, among other key tourist locations.

The nine-million-euros campaign with the claim Open to meraviglia (Open to wonder) has been launched by the tourism ministry and Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT) and will be rolled out in all major consolidated and high potential markets.
