However, it was Brescia who had more of the ball and more chances, with 60 per cent possession and 11 shots on goal compared to Parma’s five.

The hosts took the lead in as early as the 11th minute when Benedyczak slid into the path of Adrian Bernebe’s long ball into the box and got a foot to it and sending it through the legs of Andrenacci.

Very soon after and Benedyczak would have his second when Dennis Man’s header on goal hit the cross bar and rebounded to him.

He headed it in despite the effort of a diving Andrenacci.

Brescia had a number of chances in the second half, at one point even requiring Parma to clear the ball off the line.

However, they were unable to score and remain in the relegation playoff zone as a result of the loss.
