A truck loaded with acid hit a car on the A21 motorway at Piacenza Thursday, killing the lorry driver and poisoning seven other people.

The vehicle, loaded with peracetic acid, smashed into a car with three people on board.
The driver of the truck died on impact, while the three passengers were poisoned and transported to the hospital in Piacenza together with four other people who had helped them to get out of the passenger compartment.
This brings the total number of people poisoned to seven, but none of them is in a life-threatening condition.
