The Sicilian club, owned by Australian businessman Ross Pelligra, sealed promotion after beating Canicatti 4-1 away.
They are now 22 points clear of second-placed Locri with only six games remaining, meaning they cannot be caught.
Impressively, Catania have only lost one game all season.
The team bus was escorted by fans who celebrated long into the night.
The Melbourne-born owner of Sicilian descent only created the club last year, as its predecessor was dissolved.
One of Pelligra’s first moves was to appoint former Socceroos legend Vince Grella as CEO.
Grella and Pelligra were introduced to one another by fellow former Australian international, Marco Bresciano.
Pelligra has been up front about his goal of brining Catania all the way up to Serie A.
