Unless adverse weather conditions impose a change of plans, the G7 delegations will visit excavations at Pompeii on September 20.
There, a concert by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti will be held before guests attend a dinner at the Palestra Grande (Large Gymnasium).
A concert with Andrea Bocelli still needs to be confirmed.
The mayor was briefed on Thursday morning about the security measures organised for the events, which will involve the commissioner for public security and municipal police, among others.
Plans to hold events at Pompeii were questioned after a recent controversy concerning a minister.
An alleged advisor to former culture minister Gennaro Sangiuliano, who did not have security clearance, said she was involved in classified email exchanges about the organisation of the G7 Culture meeting.
Sangiuliano last Friday resigned over the scandal involving Maria Rosaria Boccia, the disputed advisor.
