The regional government notified the appeal to the prime minister’s office on Monday afternoon.
In the appeal, Campania questioned, among other things, the agreements contained in the law between single regions and the central government.
In particular, they questioned the effect wider forms of regional autonomy might have on essential levels of core services that must be guaranteed nationwide.
In the appeal, Campania denounced that “the law allows a devolution of powers to the regions that is so vast and uncontrolled, including in sectors affecting fundamental rights and services”.
Campania says differentiated autonomy will have a negative impact on healthcare, public education, social security and civil protection in its region.
“[Differentiated autonomy will] undermine the sovereignty of the State and break the national unity and the equality of citizens in different areas of the country,” the regional government said.
