‘The Loneliest', Måneskin's long-awaited new single, released on October 7, was the most played brand new song in the world a day after its release, debuting at number 53 on Spotify's Top Songs Global chart.

The song was the highest new entry, and is already on the charts in 28 countries.

With ‘The Loneliest’ (the video for which racked up over 1.2 million views in 24 hours on YouTube) Måneskin return to the ballad, a genre that has won them some of their biggest hits.

Between poignant lyrics and electrifying guitar solos tinged with a delicate elegance, the classic rock track shows off the band's more vulnerable side.

This excellent news arrived on drummer Ethan Torchio's 22nd birthday.

The track ― which follows on from the success of 'Supermodel', which recently surpassed over 150 million global streams, topping the Billboard charts and remaining firmly in the number one spot on US Alternative Radio for several weeks ― initially premiered on Thursday  October 6 at the Underworld in Camden, North London, in front of cheering fans.

The song has arrived after a summer of success that saw the band perform on the stages of major festivals around the world, from New York's Global Citizen to the Mtv Video Music Awards and many more.

Speaking about the track, Damiano David, front man of the band, said:

"The Loneliest is a single that we particularly care about, very personal, and which we hope many can find themselves in. We are ready to continue touring and releasing new music in 2023.”

Just over a year ago, Variety described Måneskin as the band who "dared to bring rock back to the United States".

The charts today can only lend credence to this insight. The band of twenty-somethings from Rome, Damiano, Ethan, Thomas and Victoria, has won over international audiences, and their success does not seem destined to be a one hit wonder, on the contrary, it’s proving to be long-lasting.

Maneskin are now ready for the ‘Loud Kids’ Tour, which starting on  October 31 will see them perform in the United States before returning to Italy on  February 23, 2023, and from there touring all over Europe.
