Milan would have been hoping for more, but the rain-soaked pitch made things difficult.
The Italian side had slightly more possession as both sides created eight chances. Milan had six on target while Feyenoord only had two.
The goal came the third minute and relied on France goalkeeper Mike Maignan spilling Igor Paixao’s shot into the net.
It was a quick winning start for the Dutch side’s interim coach Pascal Bosschaart in his first game after the firing of Brian Priske.
