The home side had more of the ball and created 14 shots to the visitors’ five. Only one of Salernitana’s shots was on target.
Fiorentina went ahead in under six minutes when Lucas Beltran converted a penalty awarded for a poorly timed challenge by Lorenzo Pirola.
Riccardo Sottil made it 2-0 in the 18th minute with a shot from the inside corner of the box that hit both the crossbar and the right post on its way in.
Giacomo Bonaventura sealed the points for La Viola in the 56th when he got on the end of Sottil’s cutback in the box to finish past a scrambling Pirola.
Fiorentina are currently sixth on the table, just one point behind Roma in fourth.
