On this occasion, community members may lodge applications relative to the following procedures:

  1. Italian passport, for Italian citizens who are already registered at the Registry of Italian Citizens Living Abroad (AIRE) with the Italian Consulate or who are temporarily residing in the area;

  2. Recognition of Italian citizenship by descent, for Australian citizens (or foreigners to Australia, holders of a permanent resident visa) of Italian descent resident in the area;

  3. Submission of Registry documents (births, marriages, divorces certificates). Certificates must have already been legalised by means of an Apostille by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and translated into Italian by a NAATI certified translator. Death certificates can be submitted only as a photocopy, without Apostille nor translation;

  4. Signature/photo authentication, certificates of citizenship, residence, family composition and single status.

Consular officers will be available at the Italo-Australia Sport and Recreation Club, at 34 Barrow Lane, North Lismore, on June 21 and 22, 2019, during the following hours: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Applicants will need to book an appointment with the consulate by June 18 at the latest, and send an email to the consulate with the following words in the subject line: “Appuntamento consolare a Lismore.”

The email must contain the applicant’s correct personal details: name, surname, and place and date of birth (women must specify their maiden name, as per their birth certificate).

Applicants who wish to request Italian citizenship recognition also need to specify their Italian descendants’ personal details (maiden name for women).

This will allow the consulate to run an initial check with documents or information possibly already available in its archives.

Please visit the consular webpage for any further details and forms about passports, citizenship, civil status, the list of NAATI translators, or any other matter.
