This year's competition attracted an outstanding response, with more than 200 entries submitted from across Australia. Students were invited to explore the theme of this year's Italian Language Week: A Brilliant Language: Imagining, Designing and Creating in Italian.

We would like to congratulate everyone who took part. The judging panel faced the difficult task of selecting the winners, a testament to the creativity and high standard of the entries received.

In Victoria, this year's primary school winners are Emilia Dong, a Prep student, and Michaela Andipatin, in Year 6, both from Footscray Primary School.

In New South Wales, the awards went to Adira Albertolli, a Kindergarten student at Santa Sabina College, and Alessandro Fontana, a Year 6 student at the Italian Bilingual School.

In South Australia, the Year 2 class at Nazareth College took out the award in its category with a collaborative entry, while Estelle Gerace from Trinity Gardens School claimed first place in the Years 3–6 category.

In Western Australia, both awards went to students from Lesmurdie Primary School: Freya Neill in Year 2 and Hana Djefel in Year 6. In Queensland, the primary school award went to Herbert Jensen, a Year 5 student at Padua College.

The national winners are Adira Albertolli from Santa Sabina College in the Prep–Year 2 category and Michaela Andipatin from Footscray Primary School in the Years 3–6 category.

In the secondary school competition, two students from Mount Alvernia College in Queensland took out the awards in the native and non-native Italian speaker categories: Sophia Signorello and Ana Machado.
